All tickets to our premium sections – Gold Grass and Connoisseur Lounge include bean beds, all pre-spaced for your comfort.

In our General Admission section, we ask that you adhere to social distancing practices and follow directions from our COVID safety marshalls and staff.

A limited number of Bean Beds are available for hire at the venue for $10, for any General Admission patrons who are looking for a comfy place to settle on the grass. Turn up early as we do sell out! Alternatively, you can bring your own bean bags, cushions, blankets and rugs. If you need to bring a chair, you will be directed to sit behind all other patrons at the cinema.

Moonlight Cinema Perth is located at May Drive Parkland in Kings Park and Botanic Garden. Enter from May Drive.

By car: Come down Thomas Street, take the Saw Ave entry (end of Rokeby Road lights) then right into May Drive. If youre coming from the southern end come up Stirling Hwy, left into Winthrop Ave then first right into Poole Drive and follow that around to the left until you get to May Drive. There are two car parks with limited capacity but plenty of parking off May Drive. Youll see the May Drive Parkland on the left.

Moonlight recommends you bring a torch to assist you in making your way to and from the venue.

Gates open at 6pm. Screenings start at sundown (approximately 8pm from December to February, 7pm in March)

We suggest arriving early to ensure a great spot on the lawn. Give yourself time to relax and enjoy a picnic or our delicious onsite catering before the film.


You are welcome to BYO food and drinks (including alcohol)or enjoy something from our onsite caterers. Please note that alcohol cannot be purchased form the bar on nights with G or PG films playing.

Food and beverage items purchased with your tickets online will appear on your Print-at-Home under your tickets. To collect your order, all you need to do is bring your Print-at-Home ticket (either printed or on a smartphone/device) to the food truck on site.

Please note that food service stop when the film starts so you will need to collect your items before this time.

Here are our recommendations to have the perfect night under the stars:

  1. Moonlight is an outdoor cinema, and the parks can get chilly once the sun goes down!Be prepared and pack a jumper just in case. Layer up and/or bring a blanket to snuggle under, and youll have a cosy night.
  2. Bean beds can be hired at the venue but are limited, so we recommend you bring a picnic rugand pillows just in case.
  3. Moonlight Venues are nowCASHLESS. Please make sure to bring along your credit card, debit card or gift card to purchase food and beverage or bean beds on site.
  4. If it’s been a bit wet, we encourage you to bring something to keep dry, just in case. Ponchos and plastic picnic rugs are always a good option.
  5. Pack some insect repellent. We all know what Summer in Australia is like, particularly around parklands!
  6. You are welcome to BYO food and drinks (including alcohol) to Moonlight. We also have a licensed bar and catering trucks to provide snacks and drinks. Unfortunately there is no hot food service in Perth. Service stops 30 mins into the film so as not to interrupt the show. In Perth, our licensed bar can’t operate for G or PG films – you are still welcome to BYO alcoholic drinks to all screenings in Perth.

For Gold Grass and Connoisseur Lounge ticket holders; Your bean beds are already included and reserved. Gold Grass includes wait service but remember; service stops when the movie begins so as not to interrupt the show.

There are two car parks on May Drive with limited capacity, and also plenty of verge parking off of May Drive.

You can pick up some delicious dinner at our on-site food trucks and grab a drink at our licensed bar. All the classic movie snacks and drinks will be available from our candy bar. You can also prep a perfect picnic – we’re BYO*!

Due to licensing restrictions there is no hot food sold on site. There is a licensed bar at the venue providing a delicious range of snacks and hot and cold drinks. Alcohol cannot be sold at G and PG rated films, but you are still welcome to BYO for these screenings.

Unfortunately no dogs are allowed at our Perth site.

Guide dogs and Service dogs are permitted.

Moonlight venues are largely smoke-free. However, every venue has a designated smoking area. Any person wishing to smoke is required to enter the designated smoking area.

Disabled toilet: Yes.Located with the other toilets. (Zamia Cafe and Bovell Kiosk).

Wheelchair viewing area: Staff will direct you to a suitable position when you arrive. The best spot would be middle-back where any patrons that bring in chairs are permitted to sit.

Paved pathways: No. Only from carpark to entrance and between entrance to toilet, no paved pathway inside cinema area.

Disabled parking spot: Yes. Next to Zamia cafe, 3-4 spaces available.

Audio Induction Loop: Unfortunately we don’t have an audio induction loop system at Perth Moonlight Cinema. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Please contact the Venue Manager before you leave the cinema to report any lost items and leave your details with them. If you realise you have lost something after you have left the cinema, please contact usand selectLost Propertyso the venue can get back to you asap.

Yes, but our minimum for group bookings is 30 people. You can find information, FAQ’s and Order Forms for group bookings here in mid-November.

At the Box Office:You can visit the Box Office at Moonlight Cinema venues. Gates open at 6pm, however tickets are subject to availability.

We cannot process transactions on AMEX at the Box Office.

All bookings are final, and we do not refund or exchange tickets for a mistaken booking or change of mind. Refunds and exchanges will not be made for inadvertently booking the wrong session. Please check the session details carefully on each page of the booking process. The session date, time, film title and city are available for review at each step of the process.

Refunds will not be given for a cancellation due to Adverse Weather conditions, but your tickets will automatically be converted into vouchers to book another session in the current season. We understand that sometimes it can be hard to schedule a night out so if your session is cancelled in the final month of the season, we will automatically refund your booking if a session is officially cancelled due to Adverse Weather.

We accept Event Cinemas Gift Cards for online ticket purchases and at Moonlight venues. You can use them for tickets, food & drinks and bean bed hire. Event Cinemas Gift Cards are the plastic gift cards which are pre-loaded with a value between $25-$250.

We do not accept Event Cinemas individual ticket vouchers, including:

  • Event Cinemas branded complimentary tickets or individual ticket vouchers
  • Event Cinemas Gold Class gift vouchers
  • Hoyts or other cinema branded vouchers

After making a booking, a confirmation page will load and you will automatically receive a tax invoice and your print-at-home tickets by email. This email will usually come through in a few minutes but please allow up to 24hrs. Moonlight Cinema makes every effort to ensure that emails are delivered swiftly to your inbox, however they are occasionally filtered out by spam or junk mail programs. If you do not receive your confirmation email, please check your Junk Mail folder.

If you are certain you have not received the confirmation email the next step is to check your bank or Paypal account for signs of a successful transaction. If the transaction has been confirmed and money debited this means that the booking has gone through but there was a problem with the email address you entered when you made the booking. Typographical errors are common, especially when booking on a mobile device, and this is the most likely reason for your ticket email not arriving.

In this case, please be assured that Box Office staff can locate your booking on site, and will be able to print your tickets on the night.

If you are still concerned, and would like further help locating your tickets, please contact usvia the Resend Tickets form. But we advise that there can be a 3-day expected response time on email enquiries, so if your session is imminent the best thing to do is have our friendly Box Office staff locate your tickets on the night.

Yes. Head straight to the gate with the tickets displayed on your smartphone/tablet screen.

Gold Grass is a premium sectioned off area where you’ll have the best view in the house and a reserved bean bed.Our hosts will also take your order and serve refreshments straight from the fully licensed bar and food truck. Please note that service stops when the movie begins so as not to interrupt the show, so pop in early put your feet up and relax!

Can I bring kids into Gold Grass?

Kids are welcome in Gold Grass however there are no reduced price tickets for children or concession holders.

The Connoisseur Loungeis an area where the you can relax and enjoy the movies under the stars, with a reserved comfy Bean Bed thanks to Connoisseur. Ticket price includes a Bean Bed in the Connoisseur Lounge section.

There is no wait service to this area but youre welcome to visit our fully licensed bar and food truck on site.

If you wish to upgrade your General Admission tickets to Gold Grass or Connoisseur Lounge, please make a new booking for that premiumarea and thenContact Uswith both booking references.We’ll be happy to cancel and refund your original General Admission booking.

Please note: tickets purchased with a General Admission Vouchercannot be upgraded to a premium area. General Admission Vouchers cannot be upgraded or used in a different area.

All bookings are final, and we do not refund or exchange tickets. Refunds and exchanges will not be made for change of mind or inability to attend. As an outdoor event Moonlight Cinemaissubject to weather. We try to go ahead with screenings wherever possible, and do not cancel for light/intermittent/potential rain. We strongly recommend you bring wet weather gear to screenings in case of rain.

Screenings will be cancelled only if the weather poses a safety threat to patrons and staff. Screenings are cancelled based on the conditions on site. We try to cancel as early as possible, however as weather conditions are unpredictable we may have to cancel close to or during the screening. Patrons accept the risk that weather they consider unsatisfactory may occur on a screening night and acknowledge that tickets will not be re-validated unless a screening is cancelledby Moonlight Cinema.

In the rare event that a session is cancelled, ticket holders will receive anSMSand anEMAIL, we will update the movie listing on ourWEBSITEand we will post a notification onFACEBOOK. In addition,SIGNAGEwill be erected on site. You will then be able to use your Moonlight Cinema tickets to re-book for another session.

*Moonlight Cinema Head Office often does not receive advance notification of a cancellation due to adverse weather, and so are unable to advise patrons of a cancellation. Please wait for the SMS and/or email from the Venue.

In the event of a weather cancellation, all tickets are validated to swap into another session in the 2019/20 Summer Season. There are two options:

If you purchased your ticket online: You are now able to re-book online in advance of the new session you wish to attend. Please Click Here and follow the prompts. Please note you will need to have your booking reference code handy. This is located on the confirmation page when you make your booking, or on the receipt page of your Print-At-Home tickets. It is the 7-digit code beginning with W, NOT the individual ticket code.

If you purchased your ticket at the Box Office: Simply bring your original ticket to the session that you wish to attend. Tickets are subject to availability. Please bring the original ticket to be scanned at the gate this way you avoid queuing at the Box Office. Terms of Sale apply.


We understand it can be hard to rebook towards the end of the season. Never fear, if your session is cancelled in the last month of the 2019/20 Summer season, your booking will automatically be refunded. If you would like to attend again, you can simply purchase new tickets to your desired session.
